Centreville Emergency
"A single place to find information about the emergency services and emergency resources available for the residents of Centreville VA"
During the great snowstorm of 2010 our community lost power, became snowbound, and generally experienced a mini-emergency. To my knowledge no one in our community was injured or required special emergency assistance. However, a fire or medical emergency could have been pretty serious. As it was there were people that didn't have power and therefore couldn't warm or feed themselves. Most just moved in with neighbors that had power or checked into the local hotel. The upside to the event was the fact that neighbors actually met each other and worked together to solve problems.
In the event of a more wide-spread emergency we could all be affected and generally in a situation that is only slightly removed from the pioneers. The problem is that we have all come to rely on the utilities and emergency services "just being there." Many of us really have no idea what to do if a real emergency strikes -- or even who to call. So, what I have done here is start a list of resources to help in the event of an emergency. I will also be including some other blogs and websites that can help you solve problems in the event of an emergency.
Please write down or print out the important contact numbers you find on this site. Don't wait for an emergency to look up this information.
As for legal liability --- you are on your own. In the end you are responsible for your own safety and security.

Urban Survival
Cody Lundin is a survival instructor and author. His somewhat "unique" style shouldn't get in the way of listening to his common sense advice on survival.
